After working more than twenty years as a reporter and magazine
editor, I switched careers in 2012 to become an elementary school teacher. I love teaching fourth grade; I think it is the most exciting K-12 year
of all. Fourth graders use their rapidly developing reading and analytical
skills to embrace the joy of learning and discovery. Their enthusiasm is
contagious. Outside of school I enjoy
spending time with my family and cooking for them. I also enjoy riding my
mountain bike and reading (though not at the same time!).
